UNC-CH Center for Bioinformatics

Workshops

The University of North Carolina promotes many workshops on topics of biology and computer science. The one (or more) hour workshops are provided through the many departments on the UNC-CH campus. Click here to register for one of the training workshops for the software packages that we support.

Registration for these workshops is free for all who are part of the UNC 16 Campus System (Sequencher, Genespring and CGC are only available to UNC-CH employees) but we do REQUIRE that you sign up with your university email account even if you do not use the university account (@UNC_SYSTEM_SCHOOL.edu) normally for email.

If using your university account presents a problem, please contact us at the email below to register.

Below is a list of the workshops that we are currently offering at UNC-Chapel Hill. The current schedule (see above link) is regularly updated and these updates are announced through a listserv. If you are within the UNC System and would like your email added to the listserv, please email your request to: tarandal@email.unc.edu.

(Handouts for individual workshops, if available, can also be found by clicking on the appropriate Course Title)

We are regularly developing new workshops in freely available bioinformatics tools to add to this list.

Help Sessions

The Center for Bioinformatics offers help sessions available to researchers on campus (UNC-CH). Any individual with a bioinformatics research concern is welcome to arrange a time by emailing tarandal@email.unc.edu. Sessions can be oriented toward Vector NTI help or other bioinformatics research concerns as we can often find publicly available tools that can solve individual problems.
