Downloading and Installing Vector NTI

First of all, if you have an older version of Vector NTI on your computer you do NOT absolutely need to upgrade to version 11. There are no significant changes except to the look and feel. Several new functions are described here:

http://www.invitrogen.com/site/us/en/home/LINNEA-Online-Guides/LINNEA-Communities/Vector-NTI-Community/Vector-NTI/what-is-coming.html

Our dynamic license will work either with version 11 or any version 10.x. If you have any questions about whether you need version 11, please call Tom Randall at 919-843-3891 or contact us by email (tarandal@email.unc.edu).

Go to the Vector NTI User Community page to download and install Vector NTI:

http://www.invitrogen.com/site/us/en/home/LINNEA-Online-Guides/LINNEA-Communities/Vector-NTI-Community/Vector-NTI/Download.html

The primary option is Vector NTI 11; if you want version 10.3.1, go to the Download Archive link within this page.

Go to “Download” and download the software executables. If you are replacing an older version of Vector NTI on your computer with Vector NTI 11, you should back up your database to a folder other than the “VNTI Database” folder on your C drive as a precaution prior to any installation. Open you Explorer Database, go to Database > Backup, select the folder you have created and choose OK.

Next, you will first have to uninstall the older version of Vector NTI. The database of the older version will remain and the contents will be recognized by Vector NTI 11.

Install Vector NTI 11 and obtain the dynamic license. To get the license contact Tom Randall at tarandal@email.unc.edu. The instructions above also apply if installing VNTI version 10.3
