UNC-CH Center for Bioinformatics was established to promote the use of computational tools for molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry and biomedical research at the University of North Carolina. The center contributes to selecting and supporting computational programs in collaboration with Information Technology Services – Research Computing (ITS-RC). As a bioinformatics analysis resource, the UNC-CH Center for Bioinformatics has established a “help desk” that assists University researchers with bioinformatics tools as well as provides expertise for sequence data analysis (conventional Sanger as well as “Next Generation” technologies like Illumina, Pacific Biosciences and Oxford Nanopore). In addition, Center continues to evaluate bioinformatics programs that may be useful for the entire campus.

Since its establishment, UNC-CH Center for Bioinformatics has offered bioinformatics workshops designed and instructed by the center personnel. In addition, we have assisted researchers by providing data analysis/interpretation for research publications and grant applications while also maximizing computational resources by providing time and money saving solutions.

This website was developed to provide information on the use of bioinformatics programs, links to informative websites, and access to tutorials.
